In the racing world, DNF stands for “Did Not Finish”. Seeing those three letters adjacent to your name on the race results list is not a satisfying feeling. Finishing what you start is of the utmost importance. As written on these pages here, starting is important, but starting everything and finishing nothing equals failure.
